Scuba diving is my passion. After I retired from the Air Force after 23 years, I wanted to find something that I enjoyed doing and that I could make some money while doing it. I have been a scuba instructor off and on for the past 14 years. I have been in the dive industry since 1988, shortly after I completed my advanced certification, I became a deckhand with Panama City Dive Center . It was an awesome job! I was able to help people get in and out of the water, and I found my nack on helping people get out of situations like the fear of jumping off the boat, or slight panic attacks in larger waves.
RU4SCUBA came about from me thinking "what am I gonna do after I retire" and my wife's urging that I do something with Scuba. I know all of the dive shops in the panhandle of Florida , and I know that I don't want to open another scuba shop. My sister's friend from Georgia called asking my recommendation for where or who she and her friend could go snorkeling with. I did a quick internet search and discovered that no one in Fort Walton Beach offered snorkeling trips, or discover scuba diving. I had my 10 sets of dive gear for training. I had a covered utility trailer, so I started putting the 2 together, and realized that I could offer a unique service that no one was providing in the area - - discover scuba diving at the local hotels and resorts.
